Instructional Staff Molly Norton: Molly became the colorguard director at EPHS in the fall of 2003. She has taught various award-winning high school colorguard programs throughout the state including: fall marching band, winterguard, and summer parade marching. Molly has also been the colorguard caption head for the Govenaires Drum & Bugle Corps for the past eight years, leading them to three consecutive DCA Class A Colorguard titles. Molly’s performance experience includes the WGI World Class Finalist winterguard, Onyx (Dayton, OH) and the DCI World Class Corps, The Colts (Dubuque, IA). She also performed for 4 years in high school and 12 years with the Govenaires colorguard/winterguard.
Jeffrey Peterson: Jeffrey Peterson is a 1995 EPHS graduate and former member of the EPHS Winterguard. He is proud to have worked with the EPHS colorguard since fall of 2003 (and also from fall of ‘95 thru fall of ‘96). As a colorguard instructor, he has created for and taught various award-winning high school colorguards including Anoka, LeSueur-Henderson, Champlin Park, Waseca, and Sauk Rapids. Further, he has served in various roles including visual caption head, drill designer, and colorguard choreographer for the Govenaires Drum and Bugle Corps since 2002. He and Rob Thomas led the Govenaires Winterguard to their Championship season in 2008.
Jeffrey performed with the colorguard of DCI’s world class finalist Madison Scouts from 1995-98, and was a WGI World Class finalist in 1997 and 98 with the Every-Body Winterguard of Portland, OR. From 1999-01, he designed and performed with the Seneca Winterguard of the Twin Cities, helping lead that group to its competitive successes.
Jeffrey has judged movement for the North Star Colorguard Circuit since 2003.
A professional dancer, Jeffrey holds his MFA in dance from New York University - Tisch School of the Arts (2005) and his BFA in dance from The University of Minnesota- Twin Cities (2001). While in school, he performed the work of acclaimed choreographers Jose Limon, Doug Varone, Bill T. Jones, Zvi Gotheiner, Chris Aiken, and Johannes Wieland, to name a few. His career highlights include three years performing and touring nationally with JAZZDANCE by Danny Buraczeski, two with ARENA Dances by Mathew Janczewski, an appearance in The Grand Step Project by Stephan Koplowitz, and multiple years performing with New York - based choreographers Clare Byrne and Edisa Weeks.
In 2007, Jeffrey's company, Jeffrey Peterson Dance, received creative support in choreographic commissions from Dance New Amsterdam's In The Company of Men and Movement Research in New York City. Dubbed "...poetic precision..." by Rick Nelson of the Minneapolis Star Tribune in 2003, the work of JPD often intermingles colorguard with modern dance. Other venues at which his work has been presented include: The Bryant Lake Bowl, Kinetic Kitchen, Dixon Place (NY), The Minnesota Fringe Festival, dancenow/NYC at Joyce SOHO and Joe's Pub, and Patrick's Cabaret.
Jeffrey has served as the Music Director of the Dance Department at Marymount Manhattan College, Visiting Professor of Dance at St. Olaf College (Modern), and has taught as part of the Minneapolis Children's Theatre Company's education department (Musical Theatre Dance), at Zenon Dance School (Jazz), and the Perpich Center for Arts Education. He has set dance choreography on students at the University of Minnesota - Morris, the Perpich Center for Arts Education, Zenon Dance School’s Block E Program, and the Dance Conservatory of Southern Minnesota. Currently, he is an Adjunct Professor of Dance (Ballet, Jazz) at Winona State University, and in the spring will also join the faculty at St. Mary’s University of Winona (Modern, Musical Theatre Dance).
Ruth Boehme: Ruth worked briefly with the EPHS winterguard in ’05, and is happy to have rejoined this talented staff for the fall and winter seasons! She has taught and designed for many colorguard programs in parade and field marching bands and winterguards throughout southern MN and IA, and was the colorguard director for 10 seasons with the Waseca HS marching band. Ruth has been in colorguard since high school, and has marched 11 years with the award-winning Govenaires colorguard/winterguard. She performed with Onyx; a WGI World Class winterguard based out of Dayton, OH, and has danced in shows for the MN Fringe Festival and in various shows in the St. Peter/Mankato area. Ruth lives and works in St. Paul, and is currently pursuing a degree in nursing. |
